The Graduate Assistant will provide support to the Assistant Director of the Office of Student Engagement in the areas of undergraduate orientation, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and student leadership.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist the Director in the planning and execution of the Fall and Spring
  • Orientation programs.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director on the recruitment, selection, training,
  • and supervision of the Peer Mentor student leadership position.
  • Co-advise the College’s Interfraternity Council and Babson College
  • Panhellenic Association.
  • Assist the Assistant Director to shape and execute the Fraternity & Sorority
  • Life Pillars of Excellence Framework, along with co-developing the Fraternity
  • & Sorority Life Leadership track.
  • Co-Manage New Member Recruitment for both fraternities and sororities,
  • including new member data experience data tracking.
  • Support the Office of Student Engagement in program and event
  • assessment, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Support the pursuit of inclusive excellence and accessibility
  • principles/competencies through aforementioned responsibilities.
  • Provide support for major office events including New Student Orientation,
  • the Club and Org Fairs, Family and Friends Weekend, Spring Concert, Best
  • of Babson, Senior Week, as well as
  • late-night/weekend programming.
  • Collaborate with campus partners as needed.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.


WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and must be a matriculated graduate student.
  • General knowledge of services and programming offered through the Office
  • of Student Engagement, including but not limited to student development,
  • project management, event logistics, and budget management.
  • Competence to work with individual students and facilitate larger groups with
  • regard to learning, leadership, identity development, and integration with the
  • campus community.
  • Ability to apply student learning and developmental theory to student affairs
  • practice.
  • Adherence to and value for professional ethical standards; an ability to teach
  • and model respect for shared community values.
  • Ability to build rapport, establish and maintain mutually satisfying
  • relationships.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances; ability to develop
  • creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support
  • ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives,
  • objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to
  • achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible
  • in changing conditions.
  • Must have strong technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

  • This is a part-time, temporary on-campus position working up to 20 hours per week from July 27-December 18, 2026 and January 4-May 21, 2027.
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required.
  • Option for furnished on-campus apartment (studio, one-bedroom, or shared multi-bedroom, based on availability) with no monthly rental fees (monthly taxes would be incurred as it is a taxable benefit) or on call responsibilities, professional development opportunities, and parking.

Additional Job Description:

This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $ 19.68. This position includes paid sick leave where required by law. Eligibility, accrual, and usage will follow applicable state and local regulations.
