Job Description:

The General Medicine Department, Section of Nephrology at BIDMC is seeking a full-time Nephrologist – Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor - for our Boston location.   The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Nephrology program provides adult inpatient and outpatient services at the academic medical center in Boston, as well as community sites throughout the Boston region.  The Nephrologist will provide inpatient, outpatient and dialysis services at BIDMC Boston and in the greater Boston area. Additionally, they will train and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows, fostering their development in renal medicine. Engaging in medical staff quality improvement activities and contributing to care plan meetings are essential components of the position. Furthermore, the candidate will perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission and goals of HMFP and BIDMC.

Job Requirements (examples below)

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board-certified or eligible in Internal Medicine
  • A valid MA medical license or the ability to obtain one
  • Federal DEA and Mass Controlled Substance certificate
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in renal medicine; proficiency in outpatient and inpatient medical care; knowledge of quality, safety, and infection control standards

Pay Range:

$120,000 - $350,000

The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
