The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.

Tier 1 – RN 2 Per Diem position- 4 hours/week Monday-Friday. 

Primary focus of this position is supporting the UR CNPD Provider Unit. The UR CNPD Provider Unit is accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. The NPD Practitioner/Specialist will work collaboratively with the CNE coordinator and other members of the team to ensure ANCC criteria and standards are followed and educational activities are effectively planned, implemented, and evaluated according to educational standards and adult learning principles. CNE awarded educational activities are designed to improve the knowledge, competence (skill), practice performance, and/or patient/system outcomes of RNs and healthcare professionals. On the job training will be provided for this position to include the role of the ANCC Nurse Planner.  Requirements include NYS RN license, BSN and master’s degree in related field. Board certification in Nursing Professional Development encouraged. Required experience in acute nursing care.  Annual requirements include mandatory education and competencies must be up to date and maintained according to service area/unit requirements. Staff must have received a "Successful" or "Exceeds Expectations" on most recent evaluation to move to per diem status. Staff must have worked (FT/PT) in a clinical setting within the previous twelve months to transition to per diem status.
