Indian River State College is seeking a passionate and experienced nursing professional to join our team as a Student Advocate Advisor. JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for enhancing the educational experience and success of students. Organizes and assists with student-centered activities under the Nursing Workforce Expansion Grant program. Collaborates with faculty and staff to develop and promote student success, and supporting initiatives aimed at improving student retention. Provides academic support, mentors students, and works closely with faculty and staff. Keeps abreast of current college policies, participates in job training, and utilizes various resources to enhance student learning. Fosters an environment conducive to student success and fulfills all duties necessary to support the college’s educational objectives.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally more than fifty (50) pounds. Physical skills required include the ability to lift heavy boxes and materials, to move equipment from room to room, and to work for extended periods at a computer station. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
