JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction, handle specialized information service with internal and external contact of Adult Education program. Responsible for the accurate and prompt transmittal of information concerning registration, student’s files, admission, financial aid, counseling for IET programs, reporting, and testing. Implements programs and services. Works with Adult Education team, and
community partners in developing, and tracking project timelines. Develop and report key metrics. Coordinate with other areas within the college on needs, training, and communication. May consult and advise the Director on the use of resources related to the Adult Education grant. Plans, conduct, and analyze research/information. Serve as liaison between Adult Education and the staff at the Career Source centers.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Develop and implement evaluation of activities carried out with funds under Adult Education, including evaluations necessary to complete the Integrated Educational Training Open Door Grant. 10%
- Conduct assessments and evaluate the need for support services. 10%
- Update, maintain and distribute reports to all Adult Education areas. 10%
- Maintain and update promotional materials for the Adult Education programs. 10%
- Develop and maintain electronic databases for recruitment and retention student progress. 10%
- Guide students to high wage career training through IET programs. 10%
- Order and distribute supplies to all six (6) campuses.5%
- Assist with provision of readily available career and labor market information, including information on occupational supply and demand. 5%
- Provide updates to administrators regarding community employment and workforce demand. 5%
- Assist in the communication of information regarding Adult Education within the College community through preparation of memos, E-mails, and telephone referrals. 5%
- Attend conferences and workshops. 5%
- Coordinate with the Adult Education Director and Program and Testing Coordinator in recruiting special populations students and promoting Adult Education offerings. 5%
- Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 10%
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
- Minimum one (1) skills and experience in data collection and management preferred
- Minimum one (1) knowledge of the management and coordination of Adult Education programs, preferred
- Ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with diverse populations including students, faculty, staff, supervisors/administrators, and members of the community.
- Strong background and proven success in recruitment, retention, completion, and job placement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows based computer applications and computer skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively use technology to deliver presentations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally more than twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment, as necessary. IRSC (Indian River State College) expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
