Job Summary 

Leads daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, safety, quality, and efficiency goals while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. Provides direction, coaching, and support to frontline production employees, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and helps maintain a collaborative, accountable, and adaptable work environment in support of changing business needs. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of frontline employees by providing clear direction, coaching, and ongoing support, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality excellence; ensure compliance with all health, safety, GMP, quality, and company requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze production, safety, and quality performance indicators; identify trends or gaps; and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Make sound, timely decisions and resolve operational issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
  • Promote open communication, facilitate effective collaboration, and ensure alignment across team members and leadership.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, continuous improvement) to improve operational efficiency and team performance.
  • Utilize production, inventory, or ERP systems (e.g., MRP) and leverage standard business tools such as Microsoft Excel, email, and document systems to support operations.
  • Interpret and analyze production data, including output, yield, efficiency, and other operational metrics.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, material handling practices, and production equipment in a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude by performing equipment changeovers, supporting disassembly and reassembly for cleaning, and interpreting technical documents, equipment manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) .
  • Develop and support employees in a manner that promotes accountability, engagement, and consistent operational execution.

  • Support and actively participate in company, departmental, and safety policies, procedures, and programs 
  • Demonstrate adaptability and initiative in response to changing business needs and operational priorities.  
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company standards. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Job Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or High School diploma or equivalent with two + years of experience in leading, supervising or directing employees in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback 
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify issues, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment 
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, continuous improvement) and ability to apply them in daily operations 
  • Experience using production, inventory, or ERP systems (e.g., MRP); proficiency with standard business tools such as Microsoft Excel, email, and document systems 
  • Ability to interpret and utilize production data, including output, yield, and performance metrics 
  • Ability to work effectively within a regulated environment, including adherence to safety, GMP, and quality standards 
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams while managing performance, attendance, and employee relations matters 
  • May be Exposed to Various chemicals, allergens, dust and considerable noise from Machinery 
  • This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a current Food Handlers Permit.  
     
  • Highly Preferred: Bilingual (English and Spanish).

 

Physical Requirements 

  • This role requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform essential job duties that may include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, handling materials, and communicating effectively throughout the workday. 
  • The position may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of materials and equipment, including items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • The employee should be able to maintain visual attention to equipment, materials, and work areas, including tasks that involve close observation and awareness of the surrounding environment.
