We are now looking for an Inbound Supply Specialist to join UPM Specialty Materials. In this role, you will ensure secure, efficient, and cost‑competitive inbound material supply to our operations at Changshu mill, acting as a key interface between sourcing, logistics, suppliers, and mill.You will play a critical role in managing inbound supply execution, monitoring supply risks, and supporting continuous improvement in supply chain performance, contributing directly to operational stability and business profitability.Additionally, the position is located in Changshu, China and reporting to Tim Huang, VP Sourcing, UPM Specialty Materials.

UPM Sourcing

UPM Sourcing is a business integrated function. We apply business insight, value chain expertise and supply market knowledge to the supply of materials, services, and innovative solutions to advance UPM businesses’ profitability and growth in bio economy.

What you will do

  • Manage end‑to‑end inbound supply execution for raw materials (e.g. pulp), ensuring availability in line with business demand.
  • Act as the primary operational interface between sourcing, logistics, suppliers, and mill on inbound supply topics
  • Monitor inbound supply performance, inventory levels, and delivery reliability; proactively identify and mitigate supply risks
  • Support sourcing and category teams with supply planning, supplier collaboration, and contract implementation
  • Coordinate inbound logistics flows, including shipment scheduling, delivery status tracking, stock management and issue resolution
  • Drive continuous improvement in inbound supply processes, lead times, and cost efficiency
  • Support supply disruption management and contingency planning, including escalation and cross‑functional coordination
  • Ensure compliance with UPM policies, contractual terms, and safety, sustainability, and ethical standards
  • Contribute to supply data accuracy, reporting, and fact‑based decision‑making

Who you are

  • You are a bachelor’s degree or higher in supply chain, logistics, engineering, business, or a related field
  • You have 3–5 years of relevant experience in inbound supply, supply chain operations, logistics, or procurement
  • You have a solid understanding of materials supply chains, logistics flows, and operational execution
  • You have strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across functions and regions
  • You have a structured, analytical, and solution‑oriented mindset
  • You have the ability to handle operational pressure and respond effectively to supply disruptions
  • You have clear and confident communication skills in a multinational environment
  • You are fluency in written and spoken English; Chinese language skills are an asset
