Operations Supervisor- Professional Rotation Program

 

Job Summary:

 

As a participant in our Operations Supervisor Professional Development Program, you will take part in an 18-month training and career development experience designed to grow leadership skills and technical expertise. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced professionals and contribute to real-world projects and initiatives where you will gain hands-on experience in operations and directly on submarines. Throughout the program, you’ll complete various rotations, taking on the role of Operation Supervisor and leading a trade team at our Groton, CT shipyard, Quonset Point, RI manufacturing facility, or one of our Focus Factories. The program also includes leadership-focused lunch and learns and a mentorship program to support your professional growth and help you build lasting connections.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of approximately 3 to 20 trade employees in the performance of preparing, assembling and installing equipment onboard submarines
  • Act as a primary point of contact while collaborating across departments including Engineering, Ships' Management, Quality and others to ensure smooth project execution
  • Guide the team to achievement of company goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement
  • Own team performance by setting expectations, tracking progress, and promoting accountability
  • Lead and support team members by assigning tasks, offering technical expertise, providing clear instruction, developmental feedback, motivation, and performance assessment of your employee(s) while working aboard submarines in various stages of construction and repair
  • Conduct self-assessment audits, uphold commitment to schedules and maintain product quality
  • Manage a range of administrative responsibilities, including LMS, Quality documentation, work completion documentation, etc.
  • Must be adaptable to work all shifts and travel as needed to support project and team goals

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1- 7 years at EB as a current Salary exempt employee

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum of one year as a current employee in engineering 
  • Experience managing or leading teams across employment, internships or student organizations
