Overview

This instructor position is responsible for conducting general safety awareness classroom and hands on training for all Electric Boat employees. This will include, but not be limited to, general safety awareness for ladders/staging, dropped objects, fire prevention, strains & sprains, boundaries/signage, CASCON operation, RADCON Awareness, JHAs, and PPE. They will be required to follow approved lesson plans, perform examinations and evaluations of student performance, and provide documentation via written certification or computer database entry. Other duties include the development of training packages, participation in training exercises (drills), and conducting jobsite training validations.

• Must be able to learn and teach all general safety topics within Electric Boat safety curriculum.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized and strong work ethic

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma/GED
• 3+ experience in Groton Operations or Radiation Control

Preferred:

• Prior teaching/instructor experience 
• Instructor Certificate
• Experience in preparation of training materials.
