Overview

This position will report directly to the Digital Adoption Program Manager of Digital Enterprise (DE), D405. This position will oversee the work of a team of up to 5 direct report employees and representatives throughout the business and Information Technology (IT) organizations supporting the DE Program. This position will be responsible to manage the planning and execution of the DE communication strategy and plan. This includes implementing improvements and planning for growth to support current and future programs.

 

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manage DE communication channels and drive the DE Communication Plan to support Digital Strategy initiatives
  • Consult and liaise with (internal and external) enterprise stakeholders to build and oversee communication initiatives tied to major software upgrades, process changes, or program direction
  • Analyze communication performance and provide data-driven insights to optimize future strategies
  • Proactively identify, plan and manage critical and complex projects, interfacing closely with internal and external customers.
  • Working collaboratively in a team environment, and interfacing with various design and engineering departments, IT, operations, planning, materials, certification, including Newport News Shipbuilding, and NAVSEA
  • Development of personnel through training and mentoring including the preservation and development of critical technical skills and knowledge

The successful candidate will be customer-focused and have excellent project management and communication skills.  They will also have a high-level understanding of Electric Boat design/build/maintenance processes.  The candidate should have demonstrated experience in managing people with a focus on creating a very high performing organization, leading and/or supervising teams, managing complex projects. The successful candidate must be a strong leader providing clear direction in order to motivate and develop team members, as well as have a proven track record of professional development.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS or BA in Marketing or Communications
  • 5+ years of related work experience executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies 
  • 5+ Years of experience driving communication initiatives within the Defense Industry
  • 5+ Years of Supervisory or Team Leadership Experience
  • 5+ Years of experience communicating across Electric Boat organizations including but not limited to Digital Enterprise, EBIT and Design and Engineering
  • Required to obtain / maintain an active security clearance

 

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience working within Digital Enterprise or EBIT
  • Experience working with PR Agencies and Media Consultants
  • Organizational Change Management (OCM): Proven experience in crafting compelling narratives to drive organizational change
  • Project Management: Experience managing cross organizational projects
