D424 (Audit and Assessment) is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for independent quality oversight of the Supply Chain Functional Area at Electric Boat. This oversight involves both qualitative and quantitative independent observations which accurately reflect the health of the Supply Chain functional area. Ultimately, this oversight aims to drive improvements by validating compliance with applicable regulations, identifying weak areas and opportunities to improve.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops relationships with functional area supervision and management through regular touch points
  • Keeps abreast of significant upcoming work
  • Tours cognizant areas on a regular basis
  • Routinely surveils in-process work and records detailed observations
  • Develops summaries of performance to be compiled in periodic functional area reports
  • Ensures summaries include quantitative, qualitative, and independent observations
  • Interfaces with other functional area leads to identify cross-functional trends and problem areas
  • Performs audits and issues detailed audit reports, presents findings to management, and manages commitments associated with audit responses
  • Evaluates compliance with both regulatory and local requirements
  • Interfaces regularly with the Government and members of senior management regarding problem area trends

Skills

  • Working knowledge of the Electric Boat Supply Chain, part numbers requirements, and compliance with technical requirements (e.g., NAVSEA requirements, supplier contracts, specifications)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, assess root causes, and recommend improvements
  • Proficiency in technical writing
  • Proficiency with technical documentation and reporting tools, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years EB experience in the supply chain organization. Internal salary candidates must be in a Senior title or higher to qualify
  • Ability to perform detailed audits and surveillances of technical work, including test activities, with clear documentation of findings and recommendations
  • 1+ years’ experience interfacing with cross-disciplinary teams (engineering, supply chain, quality) to assess supply chain program performance and identify technical deficiencies

Preferred

  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Auditor)
